HPV Screening

release date september 12th, 2023 the current cervical screening testing is changing to hpv screening patients who are using the current cervical screening care plan (cx) will need to be moved to the new hpv screening care plan (hpv) we will also be implementing a new lab order form for hpv screening prerequisites profile v8 8 12 the jaffa files, short codes, queries and macros (attached to the bottom of this article) have been imported into profile the clinic has conducted a backup of the database prior to upgrading configuration setup go to report /stored queries select the 'patients with a cervical screening careplan' query and click the run button a list of all patients with the cervical screening care plan will appear it is highly recommended to save and print this list go to maintain/care plans select the cervical smear (cx) care plan change the status of the care plan to inactive and click ok to save changes go to maintain/templates/macros select the 'replaces cx careplan with hpv screening' (replacecxwhpvcp) macro and click the run button this will replace all open cx careplans with an hpv screening care plan and may take a while depending on the amount of patients needed go to maintain/stored queries select the 'patients with hpv screening careplan' query and click the run button this will provide a list of patients who now have the replacement hpv screening careplan added once this is complete, running the queries will show no one in the cx careplan and people with hpv careplans going to the patient's care plans will show the cx careplan will have the status automatically closed with a comment as part of the upgrade, hpv screening data will be included in the capitation data extract for cvx 'cervical smear' ordering an hpv screening this order form only pertains to customers that use paper forms it does not apply to eorders select the patient and create a new encounter go to pathology select a laboratory click the dropdown arrow next to the order form button and select hpv form fill out the relevant information several fields will be autopopulated under 'test request', a test type , test site and specimen type must be selected the print button will not be enabled until these are selected certain test site and specimen type buttons will only be enabled if valid options with the selected test type click the print button to print or save as a pdf click save to save the form to the patient encounter save the patient encounter personal details in the hpv screening form cannot be updated manually, as they are taken from the patient's medical record if anything needs to be changed it must be changed in the patient record under alter patient hpv screening results processing incoming results in work centre/work/unsigned trans will show if hpv was detected or an hpv subtype was detected, and creates a recommendation for the clinician based on these results the clinician can click the edit intervention button to complete the persons hpv screening intervention (if it exists) alternatively, the clinician can click the care plans button to add the hpv screening care plan and then edit the intervention by selecting an outcome based on the results of the hpv screening, the care plan will automatically decide the timing for the next intervention date fix hpv due date in the original release, the hpv due date was incorrectly set due to rules that were applied to care plan go live dates this rule has been removed from this build and a macro fix hpv visit due date with cx plan value (fixhpvduedate) is supplied in this release package to fix the incorrect date of the first visit after running the macro, the date of the person's hpv screening visit will be set to the due date of the previous cx screening if people have an incorrect date other than the 1st august 2023, and you wish the macro to auto update these visits, contact intrahealth support for assistance to update the macro attachments
