when a clinic migrates from first databank (fdb) to vigilance sante (vs), the migration process will automatically convert medications from fdb into their equivalents in vs at the time of prescribing around 80% of all medications in fdb have a match in vs based on their din code and cross references will be created some medications will not be cross referenced through this process for those medications, the prescriber will be provided with an option to create a cross reference when the fdb medication is being prescribed prescribing using the new formulary when trying to prescribe a new medication by selecting or dragging a fdb usual or prior script, a medication not available window may appear this message appears because the fdb usual/prior script cannot be mapped to a medication in the vigilance santé formulary prescribing using ntp code matching if the medication being prescribed has the same ntp code as medications in the new formulary, these will appear as options in the medication not available window, and allows you to prescribe the appropriate medication without having to search through the formulary select the replacement medication from one of the ntp matches or the formulary and click ok a prompt will appear asking to save a cross reference if yes is pressed, all future prescriptions of this kind will be automatically converted to the selected replacement medication for all patients and prescribers manual prescribing using the formulary if there are no matches to the medication's ntp code, it is still possible to manually prescribe and create a cross reference using the formulary the select replacement medication from the formulary option is selected by default selecting it and clicking ok will open a list of all medications in the formulary search for and select the matching medication in the formulary if the selected replacement medication is a different strength to the original medication, a prompt will appear allowing you to alter the original medication details clicking yes will allow you to alter the medication details to convert to the new drug formulary fill out the relevant details and click ok a confirmation window will appear asking to save a cross reference if yes is pressed, all future prescriptions of this kind will be automatically converted to the selected replacement medication for all patients and prescribers if you want to prescribe the fdb drug as an ad hoc prescription without converting the medication to the vs formulary, select the convert to ad hoc prescription option
