as new brunswick enters the open market for electronic medical records (emr), changes have been made to the client registry solution for emr vendors overview beginning july 19, 2021, the new brunswick client registry (cr) system will no longer accept updates of patient demographic information from fee for service (ffs) and family medicine new brunswick (fmnb) clinics this includes new patient information, as well as updated patient information however, the cr search functionality will continue to be active for all clinics, and users will be able to pull patient demographic information into profile as usual nb client registry updates new patient/alter patient when adding or altering a patient in profile, the registered field is now defaulted to no and is disabled when adding a patient, once the patient information is saved by pressing , the last provincial registry update field displays never since it has not been sent to the cr graphical user interface, application description automatically generated when altering a patient, once the patient information is saved by pressing , the last provincial registry update field date/time is displayed from the last time the patient information was sent to the cr this date/time information will not be updated because the new information has not been sent to the cr patient merge it is no longer required that the status of the registered field of patients match to complete a patient merge patient information will be merged in profile only, and the merged information will no longer be sent to the cr data integrity you will not receive data integrity tasks from the provincial data integrity unit, so the responsibility for ensuring the integrity of patient records will now be the sole responsibility of the clinic you will need to use the functionality within profile to ensure there are no duplicates or missing health card numbers (hcn) nb client registry searches as of june 24, 2021, patients can no longer be searched by name only ideally, the hcn should be used for searches or, if that’s not possible, the patient’s date of birth (dob) or postal code must also be included with the patient’s full name in the search
