# Overview

The Whiteboard feature in Profile is a customisable spreadsheet in which to create lists of specified patients and important details. It may be the case that an organisation wants to quickly provide information about patients to its staff, such as in shift work in a hospital environment. The Whiteboard view can allow a convenient display of patients and cases that are being handled on a team basis. While it was initially created as a shift handover feature, it is robust enough to fulfil other demands of an organisation.

There are many ways in which an organisation can find value in using Whiteboard. Its ability to be customised and filtered can allow Whiteboard to be used an an efficient visual tool for many different purposes, including:

- Summarising important information for clinical handovers
- Task lists
- Managing and identifying workloads

# Feature Overview

Whiteboard can be found under **Work Centre/Work/Whiteboard**

Clicking on any columns will sort the list in Whiteboard by alphabetical, chronological order, or by acuity.

New entries can be added to the Whiteboard by selecting the **New Whiteboard Entry **button. 

Once you've selected a patient, you can continue to the New Whiteboard Entry menu, where you can add provider details, priority details, as well any other necessary information under the **Instruction **field.

The options available in the **Reason **field can be fully customised as Short Codes. These can be added in **Maintain/Short Codes** under **Whiteboard Reason.**

When selecting a patient in Whiteboard, you can use the **Find Appointments **

button to search for an open appointment slot, as well as any appointments they have booked.

## Filters

You have the ability to filter the list on Whiteboard so only patients that meet certain criteria are visible. 

To create and manage filters, click the **Edit **button on the right-hand side of the Filter dropdown menu to reach the Whiteboard Filter screen.

Within Whiteboard Filters, you can edit existing filters, or create your own filter that can be selected from the Filter dropdown menu.

Under the **Presentation **tab in the Whiteboard Filter menu, you can edit the defaults for the columns that are visible on the Whiteboard, as well as their width and order on Whiteboard.
