# Article Overview & Feature Requirements

The following article is intended for all users and will cover how to use STREAM AI in Profile.

## Feature Requirements

- Profile version 9.0.1 and above is required.
- Please reach out to your Customer Success Manager and/or Sales Representative for installation instructions.
- Installation must be completed as per the STREAM AI: Installation Instructions document. 

# Use Profile's STREAM AI Feature in Seven Simple Steps

**Note:** STREAM AI in Profile requires that the installation described in the STREAM AI: Installation Instructions document has occurred. If this has not happened the feature will not launch directly from the Profile toolbar. You can confirm with your system administrator or IT team that this process has taken place.

## Step 1: Launch STREAM AI

Once the installation is complete, you’re ready to launch the STREAM AI feature in Profile. 

1.  Open Profile and navigate to the patient’s chart where you wish to document. 
2.  Locate the toolbar at the top of the screen. 
3.  Click the AI Voice button to open the AI-powered scribe generator. 

## Step 2: Login

You can directly access the application on launching with the credentials used when setting up. 2FA is also configured while setting up. 

## Step 3: Start Voice Dictation

It is now time to start dictating your notes. As you do this, STREAM AI will transcribe your speech into real-time text. To begin this process:

1. Click the** Start New Encounter **button. You’ll notice that this section of the page updates to display** Start Recording** and **Stop Recording** buttons. Once you click **Start Recording**, it automatically switches to **Stop Recording**. You can click on the **Stop Recording** button to pause the voice dictation recording, if needed.

2. Speak clearly into your microphone, providing all necessary details for the note or document.  
3. When finished, click the** Generate Problems** button, to end the voice dictation recording.

## Step 4: Select a Template

Its now time to choose how you want the document to be formatted.

1. Click the **Generate Note** button.  Users can add more problems if they wish.

2. Review and finalise your notes.

## Step 5: Copy to Clipboard

Once you are happy with your notes, it's time to copy them to the clipboard.

1. Click the** Copy** button within the STREAM AI tool. This will store the entire note in your clipboard, making it ready for pasting.

## Step 6: Paste into Profile

Now it's time to transfer your note into the relevant location in Profile.

1. Return to the patient's chart in Profile
2. Navigate to the appropriate section for documentation (Ex. Encounter Notes or Referral Letters). 
3. Right click in the text field and select **Paste**.  Alternatively, you can use the keyboard shortcut (Ctrl+ V on Windows, or Cmd + V on Mac).
4. You will now see your content inserted into the patient's chart.

## Step 7: Save your Document

Now that the document is within Profile, make sure to save it to the chart. 

1. Click the **Save** button in Profile.  
2.  The process is now complete.
