# Overview & Requirements

This article covers using pre-populated laboratory names supplied by the Government of New Brunswick (GNB) for the External Provider in Profile. 

## Requirements

- This is available in Profile versions 10.0.2.3, 10.0.3 or later.
- This is available only in New Brunswick.

# Using Pre-populated Lab Names from GNB Dynamic List

## Introduction

For customers in New Brunswick, Profile can pre-populate laboratory names from a dynamic list (which is synchronized daily) of laboratory facilities provided through Profile's integration with the the Government of New Brunswick.

Previously, it was up to users to maintain the list of External Providers manually. With this integration, by using a macro set up by Intrahealth Customer Support, maintenance of this list can be automated.

## In Profile

Lab names from this list are populated in Profile using a macro, which creates External Providers in Profile with **Specialty **set to "Other", as shown in the example screenshot below.

These lab names are typically used in Profile in the following contexts:

### When Adding New Manual Transactions from an External Provider

1. From the main toolbar menu, go to **Work Centre**.
2. Select the **Manual Transactions** view.
3. In the window toolbar menu, click on the **New **icon.

This opens the **Add New Transactions** window.

4. Search for and select the applicable **Patient**. This field indicates the patient to whom the results apply and is a mandatory field.
5. Set the transaction **Category **to "Pathology" for lab results. This changes the selection of other fields that are available.
6. In the **Supplier **field, click on the ellipsis (...) button.

7. This opens the** Select External Provider **Window. In that window, set **Specialty **to "Other". The lab names displayed here are from the GNB list.

8. Select the External Provider that you want and click **OK**.

### When Processing Scans from an External Provider

Go to **Special/Scan Processor**.

The mapped folder next to the **Look in **label should default to the last folder that was used. If this folder is incorrect or blank, click the ellipsis (...) button to browse for the folder which stores the scans. Anything found in the folder is initially listed as unknown; as you assign a scan to a patient, the scans is listed under the patients' name.

Select the scan you want to process.

As part of adding scan details, you can add an External Provider as follows:

1. Set the **Source Facility **to "Ext Prov.
2. In the field alongside, click on the ellipsis (...) button.
3. This opens the **Select External Provider** Window. In that window, set **Specialty **to "Other". The lab names displayed here are from the GNB list, the same as shown for the manual transactions case above. 
4. Select the External Provider that you want and click **OK**.
