Apart from system notifications, this feature allows only outbound emails. :::hint{type="info"} Note: If the **Email to Patient** button is not on the toolbar, it can be added by clicking on the downward arrow and selecting **Add or Remove Buttons**. Select the **Email to Patient** button, if visible, or select **Customize**. Look through the items until you find **Email to Patient** and drag and drop it to the tool bar. Select **Close**. ::: :::hint{type="info"} Note: The **Email to Patient** button, should not be confused with the "New Email" button. ::: Alternatively, go to **Special / E-Mail / New Email**.  A new** Message** window will appear. Follow each of the steps above to compose and send the email.  ## Compose and send an email with an attachment Open a new email **Message** window by following the instructions in the "Compose and send an email to a patient" section above. Go to **Report / Find Objects**. Each of the patients names, and their email addresses will be included in the **To Patient **field. Compose the email message, and follow the steps covered in the "Compose and send an email to a patient" section.  ## Receive email work notifications **Go to Organisation / Preferences / General / General / Work Notification** tab.  Tick the **Enable Work Notification **checkbox.  Select the **Outbound Emails** line item. Customise the filter by choosing the appropriate options from the drop-down lists in the **Show messages conform the following criteria** fields. When done, select **Apply. **The newly created filter will appear by selecting the filter downward arrow in the **Mailbox.** - To modify an existing filter, choose the appropriate options from the drop-down lists in the **Show messages conform the following criteria** fields. When done, select **Apply. **The modified filter will appear by selecting the filter downward arrow in the **Mailbox.** - To delete a filter item. Select the item in the **Views **box, and click the **Delete **button.
