This article is intended for any user wanting to know how to send and receive messages from patients and other providers using hCare.

# Information

HCare has the ability to send and receive messages between users and other providers and patients.

On Provider Home, tap **Messages** on the menu on the left-hand side of the screen to enter the Messages menu.

## Sending Messages

1. Tap on the **Quick Select**

2. Select the Recipient type, and type in the recipient or select them from the drop-down menu

3. Type the message in the **Message **field
4. Tap **Send **to send the message.

### View messages via Patient Home

1. Tap on the patient on Provider Home to enter the Patient Home menu
2. On the sidebar on the left-hand side, tap

3. Typing messages and tapping **Send **will send the message as an SMS to the patient's recorded mobile number.

You can Tap **Record Audio** to record audio messages to send or **Attach File **to include an attachment to a document.

## Receiving Messages

1. On Provider Home, tap

on the sidebar on the left-hand side to enter the Messages menu.

2. All messages to the user will appear on the sidebar on the left-hand side of the screen, divided into **Providers **and **Patients**. Tap the icons to switch between the two views
3. Any unread messages will have an orange circle appear next to their entry on the left-hand side menu.

If a user has any unread messages, the **Messages **tab on the sidebar on the left-hand side of Provider Home will also have an orange circle next to it.
