- Medchart is available in Profile version 8 and above.
- Access to Profile's licensed Medication module
# Reviewing the MedChart for a Patient in Profile
Once a provider has submitted and signed the Admission Reconciliation Record in Profile ([See Submit or Sign the Admission Reconciliation Record in Profile](docId\:AP4AZBX8csbJWHvuQXozy)) the next part of the workflow is to review the patients authorised medications in MedChart.
## Step 1: Accessing MedChart
The MedChart view provides details of an individual's medications, showing pending, normal (current), expiring, expired and discontinue status.
You can access the MedChart view by opening the **Medical Record** of the applicable patient and clicking on **MedChart **from the left
The MedChart view is displayed.
## Step 2: Reviewing the MedChart for a Patient
The MedChart view is split into two main areas on the screen with an extra panel on the right providing further details about individual orders.
You can change the view of what is displayed on the screen by selecting the applicable filter at the top of the screen.

Regular Medications are displayed at the top of the screen.
PRN or Irregular medications are displayed in the bottom half of the screen.
- Current Medications will be displayed in standard black text
- Pending medication orders will be displayed in light grey text
- Expiring medications will be displayed in Bold Orange text
- Expired medications will be displayed in Bold Red text
- Discontinued medications will be displayed with a strike through
1. Single click on the line item for the order you would like to review.

2. The panels on the right side of the screen now display further information about that Order.
3. The top panel gives a summary of the order, medication, orderer and author. It's important to note that the orderer is the person legally entitled to issue a medication order, and the author is the person who wrote the order (e.g. Phone or Third Party orders).
4. The bottom panel displays any encounters related to the orders with hyperlinks to open each encounter.
