* The Send Advice checkbox will now always be named Send Advice and will only serve this purpose; it will not be renamed to Print Advice in some cases. * The Send Advice checkbox will now be hidden if preferences “Send Advice by SMS” and “Send Advice by Email” are both unchecked. * The Print Advice checkbox will now always be shown. * The Send Advice checkbox will now be unchecked and disabled when there is no patient selected. * The Send Advice checkbox will now be unchecked and disabled when a patient is selected if the patient doesn’t have a corresponding Communicate By checkbox checked. (e.g., Only SMS preference is enabled, and the patient doesn’t have “Communicate by SMS” checked.)

Both checkboxes are now unchecked by default. Edit / Set Defaults / Base Parameters can be used to set either of these to checked by default if desired, which applies to both New Appointment and Edit Appointment. See our [Print/Send Advice Checkboxes: Overview and Configuration](docId\:AhcBNVpyvt9IAbCJrctF7) article for more details. | | Medications; Portals | In **10.0.6**, the Route field was made mandatory across all prescribing features: Medication Reconciliation, Medication Charting, and Usual Scripts. The original intent was to promote best clinical practices by ensuring complete prescription information.  

However, we quickly recognized the unintended impact this change had on existing workflows for many customers. In response, in **10.0.8**, we delivered an enhancement that introduces a new configuration preference and updates an existing one, allowing organizations to choose whether or not the Route field should be mandatory.

The following preferences were added/updated:
* Added: *Allow blank route for all prescription ordering (prior + med chart)* - Location:  - **Preferences/Scripts and Instructions/Interface** tab - When checked:  - Route becomes optional for all workflows: - Med Chart Prescriptions - Admission Medication Reconciliation - Prescription Ordering (including drag-and-drop from Usual Scripts) - When unchecked (default):  - Route is mandatory across all of the above prescription types and workflows. * Updated: *Allow blank dose, frequency and route for usual prescriptions* - Location:  - **Preferences/Scripts and Instructions/Interface** tab - When checked:  - Users can save a Usual Prescription without entering dose, frequency, or route. - When unchecked (default):  - Dose, frequency, and route are mandatory when saving a Usual Prescription. - Change:  - Previously, this preference applied only to dose and frequency

In **10.0.8.2**, stronger behavioural checks and visual indicators have been implemented for when these fields (dose, frequency, route) are configured as mandatory:
* Required fields have a red asterisk and red border. * An inline error message prompts the user. E.g., "Please select Route." * The **Save**/**OK** button is disabled until the field has been filled out. * Medications are automatically validated for completeness immediately upon import. - Medications that fail validation open in a dedicated Update Medication Details modal window, prompting the user to complete required details before proceeding. For example, if a Usual Script is imported without a Route, users are required to fill out the Route field before proceeding. - Once missing details are completed, a confirmation modal appears, confirming that the medication has been saved successfully, and the medication now appears in the Incomplete section of Medication Reconciliation for further assessment.

**Note**: The Discontinue flow remains unchanged.
