| # Technical Note## SQL Provider Configuration Update### Why this change? ### MSSQLOLEDBv19 is the latest SQL provider from Microsoft.### Action Required### Deprecation Notice### Drivers### Additional documents:
IHServer now supports the latest **Microsoft OLE DB Driver for SQL Server (MSOLEDBSQL)** to ensure compatibility with newer SQL Server versions.
Microsoft has released a new version of MSOLEDBSQL, and this update ensures that Profile remains compatible with SQL Server 2022 (16.x) and later versions.
- It is not used by default due to breaking changes and backward compatibility issues.
- Using v19 requires additional configuration steps, such as installing a SQL Server certificate on all application servers.
- MSSQLOLEDBv19 can be enabled explicitly using the newly added DbProvider option in IHServer.
- **For customers we host: **
- No action is needed - MSOLEDBSQL will be automatically used for new connections.
- **For self-hosted customers: **
- We recommended installing MSOLEDBSQL v18 on your app servers (IHServer/IHEM service locations), particularly if upgrading to a newer SQL Server version.
**Use of MSSQLOLEDBv19 is optional. **For existing configurations, we recommend continuing with the latest **v18** for stability and compatibility.
The SQL Server Native Clients (SQLNCLI or SQLNCLI11) aren't recommended for new application installations.

| Financial | * The Type Selector required for submitting claims with the “Cancelled Surgery” option was previously hidden behind the Disease Code Assistant panel. This display issue has been fixed, and the selector is now fully visible and functional. |
| Forms
| - Previously, when a user selected ‘No’ for use of Tobacco in the Antenatal form, the ‘Exposed to 2nd-hand smoking’ checkbox was disabled and did not allow the user to indicate the person had been exposed to second-hand smoke. This has been corrected. |
| Medications
| * Previously, warning icons for adverse interactions and allergies disappeared after users clicked the refresh button for a list of medications. The icons now remain visible even after refreshing the list.
* Previously, the medication documentation process lacked predictive assistance. To improve efficiency and accuracy, predictive assistance has been added to the Medication Reconciliation workflow.
- When updating a medication, the *frequency*, *dose measure*, and *route *fields now predictively display relevant options as the user types.
- For the *frequency *field, if the desired value is not listed in the dropdown, clinicians can type free text directly into the field. The entered value is saved, ensuring flexibility and accuracy in documentation. |
| Patient Management | - Previously, default privacy settings in Preferences/Organization were not being correctly applied to child nodes, as they reflected the settings of only the topmost parent node. Profile now properly respects and applies privacy settings based on the arrangement of lists for both parent and child nodes.. |
| Patient Record
| * Previously, an exception appeared for transcriptions exported from Medical record/Documents/New transcription. Users are now able to export medical records with transcriptions without encountering any exceptions. |
| Portals | - We are updating the URL for Health Connect to align with our new brand identity. This change ensures consistency across all platforms and enhances the overall user experience.

- Previously, programming tags (e.g., placeholders like \) were visible in the password reuse message window displayed in the Accession Patient application. This issue affected both English (EN) and French (FR) versions of the message. The programming tags have now been replaced with the correct dynamic values, ensuring that the password reuse message is displayed correctly in both English and French. |
| Printing and Faxing | * The Printer Preference dropdown field for the operating environment previously labeled "Citrix" has been renamed to "Remote Desktop." This change ensures the terminology is more inclusive and accurately represents the range of remote desktop environments supported by the feature.
Impact:
- The dropdown field in the Printer Preference settings now displays "Remote Desktop" instead of "Citrix."
- No functional changes have been made; this is purely a terminology update.
- Existing preferences and configurations for this environment remain unaffected. |
| Referral, Results, Technical Design | - The Healthlink Bridge application, which is used by Profile to securely transfer message files between a customer's local-hosted network and the Intrahealth cloud-hosted Profile server, has been enhanced to communicate securely using TLS (Transport Layer Security) 1.2 or higher and will no longer support TLS 1.0 or 1.1.This applies only to those customers who are hosted in the cloud by Intrahealth but run Healthlink client application on their local network. Intrahealth has a list of potentially affected customers and will reach out to each customer individually to update this application. |
| Results | * Previously, acknowledgments (ACKs) for the BC Excelleris eMEssage Service were sent after the session expired (Excelleris has a 10-minute session timeout), and these ACKs were being rejected. With this update, the ACK is sent immediately after XML parsing, ensuring it stays within the session time limit and preventing any rejections.
* An issue with the scroll bar not functioning in the Documents/Transcriptions type results within Manual Matches has been fixed. Users can now scroll through and view all content in the PDF without any problems.
* Through monitoring, an error was identified that caused lab messages from Excelleris to fail. To address the issue and avoid future failures, logic has been added to allow the import message to be processed without any errors.
* When printing unmatched results, the information from the raw HL7 is displayed under the header line. Previously, this area displayed the patient age, but did not include the date of birth. Date of birth information has now been added. |
