Profile Upgrade (Enterprise Mode)

introduction this document will guide you through the upgrade process of a profile enterprise mode installation these instructions are intended for customers who are already using profile and are looking to upgrade their installation to the latest general release version it is expected that the procedures contained in this document are carried out by an intrahealth representative, or someone with technical knowledge, like it support enterprise mode is running ihem exe (intrahealth enterprise manager), and either one or many ihserver exe (intrahealth server) applications terminology term definition ihem intrahealth enterprise manager – this is the profile application routing server ihserver intrahealth server – this is the server application for profile ihea intrahealth enterprise administrator – this is a gui tool to configure the ihem data environment level most enterprise sites will have more than one profile instance installed each instance may have a different use the data environment (selected in the security settings) is used to identify each instance enterprise customers will normally have some of the following data environments • dev• test• uat• train• production name this is the name you give to your environment this is used to identify systems are the same data environment level, that may be used for different proposes or end users the system name may be the name that you give to your system environment code this is a short code with no spaces that is used to identify each instance (and the corresponding database ) this is normally derived from the environment name and data environment level for example, if your system was called “profile” and it was used as a test environment, then the environment code would be “profile test” some organizations database server the server that hosts the database used by profile it is recommended that the database is hosted on a separate server to the profile services this server should be hosted within a secure internal network application server the server that hosts the services (ihem and ihserver) systems with a large number of users or high availability requirements will have multiple application recommends installing ihserver to run as a service in this guide, the instructions will focus on sites that have the service installed the difference between the ihserver service and application is that the service can be configured to start automatically when the server is started/restarted by default, ihserver is run as an application so the sites running ihserver as an application will be required to manually start/stop each ihserver when directed to this document does not provide details on installation of ihserver as a service upgrade process before starting the upgrade, there are
