# Article Overview & Feature Requirements

This article guides clinicians through printing a Discharge Medication Summary Report. The summary provides a documented overview of Discharge Medications for ongoing clinical use or for sharing with patients.

## Feature Requirements

- Profile version 10.0.8 or higher
- MedChart should be enabled by adding the Medications licensed module.
- For useful results:
  - Medications must have been [loaded from the MedChart view into the Discharge Reconciliations view](docId\:WeTqGnlcPXVu8uzxYKVoi) and 
  - Any needed [edits to the list of Discharge Medications](docId:5yuqihYLbKiRPv3m_OwUq) must have been completed and
  - Discharge Medications must have been [signed and loaded to the Usual Scripts view](docId:2GTQnXGSGNS4mK86_sdxa).

# Print Discharge Medication Summary Report

## Steps

To print the Discharge Medication Summary Report:

1. Open up the Medical Record for the applicable patient.
2. Select **MedChart** on the left-hand side. The MedChart view is selected by default.
3. Select the **Discharge Reconciliation** view.
4. Click the Print icon to **Print Discharge Medication Summary**:

5. This launches a **Print Setup **dialog, where you can specify typical print settings.Note the Report Type: **Discharge Medication Summary Report**.

6. Click **OK **to print the summary report. If you have select a digital output such as PDF, you will be prompted to specify where the print output should be saved on your computer.

## Result

The Discharge Medication Summary Report produced is structured similarly to the MedChart Summary Report, with several differences and distinctives:

| Patient Info                               | - Includes: Patient Name, Patient Identifier Number, Gender, Date of Birth, Last recorded Weight + (where applicable) date of last recorded weight, e.g., "20kg (30 Apr 2025)"                                                     |
| Allergies and Adverse Drug Reactions (ADR) | * Active allergies recorded for patient                                                                                                                                                                                            |
| Discharge Medication Listing               | - Two sections, titled **Regular Medications** and **PRN Medications**
- Includes: 'Directions', ‘End Date’, and ‘Special Instructions’ only if a value has been entered
- PRN Medications: 'prn' suffix is appended to Directions |
| Authorizing Prescriber Signature           | * The authorizing Provider's name and designation is autopopulated. This is the Provider who [signed the Discharge Medications](docId:2GTQnXGSGNS4mK86_sdxa).                                                                      |
| Footer                                     | - Includes: Date Printed, Printed By, Page X of Y                                                                                                                                                                                  |
