Profile provides the ability to export the patients medical record to PDF in the event a specific patient record is required, or bulk export by provider if a provider is retiring or leaving the clinic and would like to bring their patients records with them.

## Exporting by Provider

Before we begin the PDF export process, the codes of the provider we wish to extract will need to be identified.  To find the provider codes:

In Profile, select Organisation\People & Places to open the People & Places window.

Find the provider either by visually checking the list, or typing the name in the Find box, and select “By Description” and clicking the Find button to search by name.   If visually checking, note that there may be more than one POS in the EMR that you may need to check.

Make a note of the code for the providers you have identified as these will be required for the export.
:::

Repeat this process until all provider codes have been collected.  You may want to note down any providers that appear to be placeholder providers (i.e. not a real provider but used at some point as a placeholder) to check if actual patients are assigned to these providers.
