# Sign in Once

Profile provides the ability to use Microsoft Entra ID (an identity and access management system) for Single Sign-On (SSO).  

This SSO capability allows our users to reduce the number of credentials needed to sign into their various work applications, as well as limit the number of times they need to sign into these applications in general. 

SSO is a licensed module and will need to be set up by Intrahealth. Please contact your Intrahealth representative if you wish to enable this feature.  A Microsoft Entra ID subscription for your organization is also necessary. Microsoft Entra ID can handle authentication, while authorization will continue to be managed within Profile

# Benefits

- Convenient and intuitive process 
- Utilizes only one set of credentials for all applications 
- Saves valuable time - no need to log in more than once 
- **Failsafe Approach:** In the event Microsoft Entra ID is not available or if the user wishes to bypass Microsoft Entra ID, logging in with local Profile username and password can still be available 

# Requirements

- Profile version 10.0.5 or later
- Microsoft Entra ID for your organization's Identity Management
- SSO Microsoft Entra ID license for Profile
- Configuration processes have been completed

# Current Limitations

- A single Profile EMR instance can integrate with up to one instance of Microsoft Entra ID 
- Provider Portals continue to use existing local user accounts and authentication method
- No support for automatic user creation and deletion from Microsoft Entra ID to Profile
- No support for signing internal Profile workflows such as Reverse Transaction, Invoice Validation, and Patient Merges with Microsoft Entra ID
