# Streamlining Inpatient Medication Ordering

Profile's MedChart feature enhances inpatient medication management by providing a streamlined provider-controlled ordering system. While Profile's Scripts prescribing functionality supports medication orders for self-administration in outpatient settings, MedChart is designed for inpatient environments where medical practitioners directly administer medications to patients.

MedChart is part of Profile's licensed Medication module, which can be used independently or integrated with existing prescribing functions. The module ensures seamless inpatient medication management and includes: 

- **Admission Medication Reconciliation** - Aligns a patient's current medications upon admission.
- **MedChart** - Facilitates inpatient medication ordering and management.

Additionally, Medchart and the Medication module can be utilised for outpatients requiring close medication monitoring.
