Intrahealth have posted JFA files containing the MBS rates from 1st, March 2020. Importing this file will create the MBS rates active for all services contained in the MBS file released.Details of the items changed in these update are available from the MBS Web site (

) This release contains two files:1.MBS_20200301_CombinedUpdate.jfa: This file contains all the rates as published by Medicare.2.MBS_20200301_AdditionaRatesForGPsWhoBillAllServicesWithMC85.jfa: This file contains all the items with 100% rates but loaded against the MC85 service rate (Optional). It is recommended that GP's who bill all services using the MC85% rate load this second file.Please note we have copied exactly what Medicare has given us in the source files to the Jaffa in terms of the MC, MC85 and MC75 rates. Some derived fees were calculated where the required rate was not available. For example, item 4 can be claimed at 100% or 75% but item 3, which it is derived from, only has a 100% rate published. We have calculated the 75% rate in this case.Descriptions longer than 2000 characters in length have been shortened to 2000 characters.Short descriptions have only been supplied for new items to avoid overwriting customised descriptions.Items which are not derived from a single item do not have rates specified.If you want to adjust your private rates you can add them in the new 01/03/2020 period in Maintain\Services\Financial tab.

Vet Code 6 = ABT? Often if a dairy sees a pregnant animal showing signs of heat they may breed her. When this breeding is entered in DairyComp the animal remains pregnant, but this flag is set so that the veterinarian can determine if she is still pregnant to the original breeding or if she has aborted and is now just another "bred status" cow.

Mastitis is the persistent, inflammatory reaction of the udder tissue due to physical trauma or infection. Symptoms of mastitis include udder swelling, heat, hardness, redness, or pain. The milk may have a watery appearance, flakes, clots, or pus.

Metritis is inflammation of the wall of the uterus, and usually occurs within days of calving. Symptoms of metritis are an enlarged uterus and a foul-smelling uterine discharge.

Ketosis is a common ailment that usually occurs in early lactation, when the energy demands of milk production are very high and the cow metabolizes fat stores for energy. Symptoms of ketosis may include reduced milk yield, weight loss, reduced appetite, acetone smell of breath and/or milk, and fever.

Milk fever is a disease characterized by reduced blood calcium levels. It occurs in early lactation, when demand for calcium for colostrum and milk production exceeds the cow's ability to mobilize calcium. "Fever" is a misnomer, as body temperature during the disease is generally not elevated. Milk fever symptoms include tremor in the muscles of the head and limbs until falling to a "sitting" position. Once down, cows may have a dry muzzle, staring eyes, cold legs and ears, constipation, and drowsiness.

Displaced abomasum in cattle occurs when the abomasum, also known as the true stomach, which typically resides on the floor of the abdomen, fills with gas and rises to the top of the abdomen, where it is said to be "displaced".
