To link scanned document or groups of scanned documents to a patient and provider, complete the following steps:

Go to **Special / Scan Processor**

Click the ellipsis in the **Look in** field and select the location of the scanned document:

Select the scan you want to link to a patient:

Complete the following fields:

- Patient
- Provider
- Date
- Subject
- File Location (select from the drop-down list)
- Category (select from the drop-down list)

**NOTE**

Determine if the file needs to be reviewed by a provider or not.

**File *needs* to be reviewed by a provider**

- Enter the provider's name in the **Provider** field.

- Make sure the** Sign Document** box is not ticked.

**File *does not* need to be reviewed by a provider**

- Tick the **Sign Document **box.
