Jaffa files allow for objects such as Templates, Service Codes, and Care Plans to be imported into a database. They are denoted with the file extension .jfa.

### Jaffa Files Import

1. Go to **Organization/Import & Export/Import Jaffa File**.
2. Locate the Jaffa file to import and select **Open**.

3. A prompt will appear where you can check the **Show Successes** checkbox and/or the **Show Warnings** checkbox. It is recommended to have successes disabled and warnings enabled.
4. Press **Start** in the Jaffa File Import dialog box to begin the import.

5. You will see a log of the import procedure once it completes. Verify in the Description column that there are no errors.

**Hot Tip**

If you have multiple jaffa files to import, put them in a folder and use the **Import Jaffa Folder** option.

### Document Templates Jaffa File Import

1. Go to **Maintain/Templates/Documents**.
2. In the **Categories** panel of the Document Templates window, select the category in which you want your Jaffa file to be saved.
3. Click the **Import** icon in the Document Templates window toolbar.
4. Find the file you wish to import. Select Jaffa Files in the Files of type field.

5. Double click on your file and press **Start** from the Jaffa File Import dialog box. Leave the Show Warnings checkbox checked.

If you encounter any other message other than “Jaffa Imported completed successfully”, please contact Intrahealth Support for assistance.

Your Jaffa file has now been converted and you can use your Document Template.

### Jaffa files Export

Exporting objects as Jaffa files allows them to be imported into other databases.

Some areas of Profile, such as Document Templates, Typing Templates, Macros, and Care Plans, allow for exporting directly from their respective areas. In these situations, open the relevant menu and click the **Export** icon on the toolbar.

For other features, such as Forms, files can be exported from **Organization/Import & Export/General**

### Document Templates Jaffa File Export

1. Go to **Maintain/Templates/Documents**.
2. In the Document Templates window, select the appropriate category and then the desired template.
3. Click the **Export** icon in the Document Template window toolbar.

4. Select where you want your Template to be saved.

5. Enter the name of your template in the File Name field.
6. Press **Save**. The document template has been converted to a Jaffa file.
