# Overview & Requirments

The following article will demonstrate the log in process, when using the Single Sign-On (SSO) tool via Okta. 

## Prerequisites

- The user is set up with Okta.
- SSO is a licensed module and will need to be setup by Intrahealth. Please contact your Intrahealth representative if you wish to enable this feature.
- The user has been set up in Profile with an Okta username.
- The user has a Profile Shortcut set up on their Desktop.

# Log in Using the SSO Tool via Okta

**NOTE: **If this is your first time Logging into Profile via Okta, or if your company has deemed it necessary, you may first need to complete the Multifactor Authentication process. This is demonstrated in the 'Log into an Okta Session (for the first time - with Multifactor Authentification)' section of this article.

## Log into an Okta Session 

Double click on the **Profile Shortcut** on your **desktop**. Your default web browser should take you to the Okta Sign in screen URL.  

1. Enter your **Username** and **Password **in the spaces provided.
2. Click **Sign in**.
3. If the log in process was successful, Profile should open automatically in that tab or window. If not, simply click on the **Open Profile** button as shown below.

4. Once this is done, Profile will open, and the log in process will be complete.

**NOTE: **If you **Logout** and **Login** again, the **Login Successful **screen (shown above) will reappear. 
Once the **Open Profile** button is selected, you will be taken directly to Profile, and will not need to reenter in your login details, unless you manually **Sign out** of your Okta session.

## Log into an Okta Session (for the First Time - with Multifactor Authentication) 

Double click on the **Profile Shortcut** on your **desktop**. This will take you to the Okta Sign in Screen. 

1. Enter your **Username** and **Password, **in the spaces provided.
2. Click **Sign in**.
3. The multifactor authentication screen will now appear asking to verify this action either by email or phone. For more information on Okta MFA, please read the solution article in the [Okta Help Center](https://help.okta.com/en-us/content/topics/security/mfa/mfa-home.htm).
4. Check your device and log in appropriately. 
5. Once prompted, close the screen you are currently on and, return to the original browser tab or window originally used for verification. 
6. If the log in process was successful, Profile should open automatically in that tab or window. If not, simply click on the **Open Profile** button as shown below.

7. Once this is done, Profile will open, and the log in process will be complete.
