# Overview 

The following article will cover the process around entering and editing immunisations in Profile. It will look at the Immunisation Now feature and the Immunisations view in the Medical Record. 

It's important to note that not all fields in the Immunisation Now feature are mandatory. This article will cover all fields, but has *italicized* any mandatory fields. 

# Entering and Editing Immunisation Information in Profile

## Entering Immunisation Information using Immunise Now

If you have just completed a once off immunisation for a patient and you need to record any relevant details associated with the visit, the Immunise Now feature in Profile can help you do this. 

Open an **Immunise Now** window by clicking on the **Immunise Now** icon found in your toolbar

**Note: **If you do not see the icon in your toolbar, you may need to add it. Read the *Customise the Toolbar* section of the [Tips and Tricks: Customising your Workspace](docId:4j5SuNkkblH9m-7-O1FRV) article for a step by step on how to do this. Note that the Immunise Now icon can be found in the **Activity** Category.

1. Search for the patient you wish to immunise.
2. Fill in the appropriate information from the various fields in the **Immunise Now** window:

**Note: **Not all fields listed in the Immunise Now window are mandatory. This article will cover all fields available. Mandatory fields have been *italicized* for ease of reference.

### Reason Panel

1. *Mandatory Field:* Add the appropriate service code in the **Action Service **field. This will also fill in the **Description** field automatically. 
2. *Mandatory Field:* Link this immunisation to the relevant intervention and care plan in the **Plan/Intervention **field. Appropriate options may be provided that relate to what your patient has planned, and what your default preference is.
3. Indicate if future immunisations are required, in the **Repeat **drop-down box. If future immunisations are required, a box indicating the amount of immunisations required and an **until** drop-down box (allowing you to enter in an appropriate end date) will appear.
4. *Mandatory Field: *Enter in the relevant provider in the **Provider **field.

### Administration Panel

*Mandatory Field*: Enter in the date and time that the immunisation was administered in the **Concluded** field.

*Mandatory Field:* Select who and where the immunisation was given in the **Given By **fields. Options include:

- Ad Hoc -Information can be entered in a free-text field
- External - An external POS can be chosen
- Internal - An internal provider can chosen
- Patient - Patient administered the immunisation themselves

Tick the **Done Elsewhere** checkbox if the immunisation was done outside of your POS. Note: if it has been ticked, you'll notice that certain fields normally required for an immunisation done at your POS may no longer be required such as **Batch/Expiry**.

Add any relevant information in the **Comments** section.

### Treatment Panel

1. Select the relevant option for how and where the immunisation site was given in the **Route/Site** field. 
2. If a needle was used, select the **Needle **size from the associated drop-down field.
3. If your organisation is using the Inventory feature, enter in the relevant information in the **Stock Location**. For more information on this feature, please read the [Inventory articles](https://help.intrahealth.com/en/support/solutions/folders/6000243968) found in the Settings and Configuration of the Knowledge Base. 
4. If your region has a central registry for reporting immunisations, you can enter in the abbreviation of the registry's name in the **Ext Agency **field.
5. *Mandatory Field:** ***Enter in the **Batch/Expiry** information in the space provided.

### Diluent Panel

1. If using a **Diluent**, enter in the relevant details within the associated **Stock Item, **and the **Batch/Expiry** fields.

### Additional Fields 

1.  Enter in the **Quantity of Dose **and** **measurement of **Dose **in the relevant fields. Note that these two fields are not associated with the **Diuent **but rather relate to the vaccine itself. ** **
2. Enter in the vaccine and serial number by clicking on the **Serial Number **button, entering the information and clicking on **OK**.
3. Add in the **Vaccine**, **DIN**, and **Manufacturer **details in the associated spaces.
4. If the patient experienced an adverse reaction, select the severity in the first **Adverse event **field and enter additional event information in the adjacent fields. ** **

5. Push **OK** and the immunisation information will be recorded. Any details recorded in Immunisations Now will be visible in the Immunisations view in the Medical Record.





## Editing Immunisation information from the Immunisations View

To edit an existing immunisation record go to **Clinical / Immunisations.**

1. Search for the patient whose immunisation information you wish to edit.
2. Find the interaction you wish to edit. Right click on it, and select **Open**.

3. In the **Actions **tab, find the immunisation that you wish to edit. Right click, and select **Open**.

4. Edit any of the appropriate fields. 
5. Select **OK **to update the information.
