**Important Notice:&#x20;**&#xA;Starting **July 2025**, the **Health Connect&#x20;**&#x61;nd **Provider Direct mobile apps** will no longer be supported. Users are encouraged to transition to the **web versions** for continued access.
**Key Details:**
-A persistent deprecation notice will appear on every app launch, informing users of the transition.
&#x20; -The web versions are optimised for all devices, **offering enhanced features, better security, and a seamless user experience.**
-During the transition period, users can still access app features after acknowledging the notice.
&#x20; -Post-deprecation, the app will display a message directing users to the web version, with a customer-friendly link (e.g., "Health Connect" or "Provider Direct") to the web portal.
&#x20; **Action Required:**
-Users should begin transitioning to the web version to ensure uninterrupted access to their accounts.

# Overview 

This article focuses on how to enable patient access to Health Connect and Accession.

# Health Connect Requirements

- App Updates: 
  - Users must update the app to the latest version from the App Store to ensure compatability and access to the latest features. 
- Portal Installation: 
  - Ensure that portals are correctly installed within the Profile build. Ensure that web servers are correctly configured. Ensure all Rules specified in the technical installation guide is configured correctly. Please reach out to Support if you have any questions regarding this step. 
- Version Compatibility:
  - Version 9 and above: Supports the portal (Patient Portal)
  - Version 10.1 and above: Supports the rebranded portal (Health Connect)
- Version Alignment:
  - Profile version 9 grants access to version 9 of portal
  - Profile version 10.0.2 grants access to version 10.0.2 of portals

**Note:&#x20;**&#x41;ny mention of Aero Patient (in the video below) refers to Health Connect.

Likewise, any Profile field names or views that reference "Profile Patient Portal" pertain to and support the functionality of the Health Connect and Accession portals.

## Enabling Individual Patients

1. Go to **Alter Patient/Internet** for the patient to be enabled.
2. Check the **Allow this patient to connect via Profile Patient Portal** checkbox.If **Send Profile Patient Portal Allowed Notification by&#xA0;**&#x69;s enabled and the patient has email or SMS communication enabled, the invitation message will be sent to them. [See Step 4 in How to Enable Health Connect and Accession](docId\:jk6lHDtshRG_rgzK2NIPi).
3. If the patient doesn't have or doesn't want to allow email or SMS communication, set the Logon ID manually to a unique username that the patient will remember, and click the Change button to set the Logon Password to a temporary password that they will be required to change when they first log in.

## Patient Registration

If the patient is able to receive the invitation by SMS or email, the link will open the patient registration page in their browser.

- The Username must be at least 6 characters long and unique (not the same as any other patient in the clinic)
- The password must pass the complexity requirements shown in the page

After successfully registering, the patient will be redirected to the Accession login screen so they can log in.

If the user does not have an email address or mobile phone number registered in Profile, the patient registration screen will include a field to enter a date of birth for extra security. The date of birth entered must be identical to what is on the patient's Medical Record in Profile for the registration to be accepted.

## Resending the Invitation

If the patient didn't get the invitation message or didn't register and create a Login ID and Password before the invitation expired, click the **Resend invitation&#xA0;**&#x62;utton n the **Alter Patient/Internet&#xA0;**&#x74;ab to send the invitation to them again.

## Password Reset

If the patient forgets their password, they should click the **Forgot password?** link on the login screen of Health Connect or Accession website. They will be required to enter their User ID, and then receive a verification code by SMS or email, at which point they will be able to set a new password.

If the patient doesn't have an email address or cell phone number in their record, they will need to contact the clinic. Click the **Change&#xA0;**&#x62;utton in the **Alter Patient/Internet&#xA0;**&#x74;ab and set a temporary password, that they will be required to change when they log in.

## Enabling Patients in Bulk

1. Go to **Control Centre/Manage/Profile Patient Portal Settings**
2. Set the filtering criteria at the top of the view, such as looking for patients who aren't currently enabled but have a cell phone number.

3. Click the **Load&#xA0;**&#x62;utton to load the list of patients.
4. Click the **Tick all records&#xA0;**&#x62;utton.
5. Click the **Enable Profile Patient Portal&#xA0;**&#x62;utton.If **Send Profile Patient Portal Allowed Notification&#xA0;**&#x69;s enabled and the patient has email or SMS communication enabled, the invitation message will be sent to them.
