This document is intended for any provider wanting to know how to document administrations of medication using MedChart.

# Information

MedChart is hCare's way of keeping track of regular and irregular administration of medication for patients.

To insert an administration of medication in a patient's profile, the medication must be entered into the patient's MedChart first.

## Adding a new medication

1. From the Provider Home, under **Patients**, select the patient you wish to edit. This opens the Patient Home for that patient.
2. On the sidebar on the left of the screen, go to**MedChart **

3. On the MedChart screen, tap the

4. Fill in the appropriate details
5. When tapping the **Medication **field, the Search Medication page will open.

Type the needed medication on the search field and tap the medication when it appears to return to the New Medication screen.

6. Tap **Save** on the top-right corner to save changes.

## Registering an administration of medication
