In Profile, stock locations need to be defined as short codes and can be added anytime.

**Follow these Steps **to add a short code:

1. Select **Maintain/Short Codes** on the main menu
2. Scroll down the **Type **column and locate **Stock Location** (the list is alphabetical)
3. Type abbreviation in the **Code field** and add an explanation in the **Description field**
4. Click on the **New** button to save your entries

**Note: **When you need to make a newly created stock location available to the POS, add the location to the relevant POS in the **Member ** window under **Organization/People and Places.**
