This article is intended for any user seeking how to create a new prescription for a patient.

Prescriptions can only be created for a patient through the New Encounter screen, not through the Prescriptions page of Patient Home. See 

Tap on the patient name on Provider Home to get to the patient's Patient Home.

On the bottom-right of the screen, tap the 

. This will bring up a list of any prior or usual prescriptions from the patient.

Adding a repeat of an existing prescription

field, select the prescription you wish to repeat. You can use the search bar on the top of the screen to type in the medication name to search for it. The New Prescription page will open.

Fill out all the relevant fields and tap 

on the top-right corner of the screen to save.

When all necessary prescriptions for the Encounter are added, tap 

on the top-left corner of the screen to return to the main Encounters menu.

Select the relevant medication by typing the name in the search bar

Once the prescription has been added to a New Encounter, it can be printed by tapping 

Send all prescriptions to Pharmacy by Fax 

field will send the listed prescriptions to the listed pharmacy when the encounter is complete.

Vet Code 6 = ABT? Often if a dairy sees a pregnant animal showing signs of heat they may breed her. When this breeding is entered in DairyComp the animal remains pregnant, but this flag is set so that the veterinarian can determine if she is still pregnant to the original breeding or if she has aborted and is now just another "bred status" cow.

Mastitis is the persistent, inflammatory reaction of the udder tissue due to physical trauma or infection. Symptoms of mastitis include udder swelling, heat, hardness, redness, or pain. The milk may have a watery appearance, flakes, clots, or pus.

Symptoms of ketosis may include reduced milk yield, weight loss, reduced appetite, acetone smell of breath and/or milk, and fever.

Milk fever is a disease characterized by reduced blood calcium levels. It occurs in early lactation, when demand for calcium for colostrum and milk production exceeds the cow's ability to mobilize calcium. "Fever" is a misnomer, as body temperature during the disease is generally not elevated. Milk fever symptoms include tremor in the muscles of the head and limbs until falling to a "sitting" position. Once down, cows may have a dry muzzle, staring eyes, cold legs and ears, constipation, and drowsiness.

Displaced abomasum in cattle occurs when the abomasum, also known as the true stomach, which typically resides on the floor of the abdomen, fills with gas and rises to the top of the abdomen, where it is said to be "displaced".
