# Article Overview & Feature Requirements

This article covers the action a Clinician or Administrator takes to close and archive a Discharge Reconciliation Record.

## Feature Requirements

- Profile version 10.0.8 or higher
- MedChart should be enabled by adding the Medications licensed module.
- Role granted: **Close Discharge Reconciliation Record **

- The following actions have been completed:
  - Medications have been [loaded from the MedChart view into the Discharge Reconciliations view](docId\:WeTqGnlcPXVu8uzxYKVoi).
  - Any needed [edits to the list of Discharge Medications](docId:5yuqihYLbKiRPv3m_OwUq) have been completed.
  - Discharge Medications have been [signed and loaded to the Usual Scripts view](docId:2GTQnXGSGNS4mK86_sdxa).

# Close and Archive Discharge Reconciliation Record

## Steps

To close and archive the Discharge Reconciliation Record: 

1. Open up the Medical Record for the applicable patient.
2. Select **MedChart **on the left-hand side. The MedChart view is selected by default.
3. Select the **Discharge Reconciliation **view.
4. Click **Close Discharge Reconciliation**.

5. You will be asked to confirm whether you want to close and archive the patient's Discharge Reconciliation Record. If you are ready to do so, click **Continue**.

## Result

This action closes the Discharge Reconciliation Record. The Discharge Reconciliation medication list is removed and archived for future review.

All Discharge Reconciliation prescriptions are now considered ‘closed’ and are hidden from the **Discharge Reconciliation** view, which now appears empty.
