This topic sheet covers the functionality for Encounter Prescription Orders in the **Scripts** panel of the **New Encounter** view for Profile version 8.0 and above.

## Encounter Prescription Orders Management

The prescription process has remained largely the same - However, additional functionality has been added to separate orders for both printing and visual purposes.

If desired, the order may be split so that certain items, such as Coumadin, may be printed and viewed as a separate order.

To separate an existing order, select and right click on the item(s) you wish to separate, and select **Separate Prescription Order**.

The selected item(s) will appear under a new heading, **Order #2**, and the original item(s) will appear under the heading **Order #1**.

::Image[]{src="https://api.qa.archbee.co/api/optimize/zICxj0dnLereb6UUrBA3-/2ElsRPOYptaAvdL4l3Z2Q_ylwcquupnnmqklxo2upe4pqyz51jf0c2ew.png" size="44" isUploading="false" initialPath="assets/yLWCQUUPnnMqkLxO2UpE4pQyZ51Jf0C2ew.png" githubPath="en/Clinical Charting/Encounters/assets/yLWCQUUPnnMqkLxO2UpE4pQyZ51Jf0C2ew.png" position="flex-start" showCaption="false"}

A similar effect can be achieved by double-clicking in the blank area to the far-right of an order item. This will create a new, separate order for the item.

::Image[]{src="https://api.qa.archbee.co/api/optimize/zICxj0dnLereb6UUrBA3-/2QpOrX6dNF7Q1DCZdwncp_0xwrqbh5ffehdjbkafuhcof-cckddpzyq.png" size="44" isUploading="false" initialPath="assets/0xwrqBh5FfEHdjBkAfuHCOf-ccKDDPZy_Q.png" githubPath="en/Clinical Charting/Encounters/assets/0xwrqBh5FfEHdjBkAfuHCOf-ccKDDPZy_Q.png" position="flex-start" showCaption="false"}

Double-clicking in the blank area when multiple orders are already present will place the item into the order directly above.

If the prescription is already split across multiple orders, new items prescribed using the **New** icon, or within the **Rx:** field, will appear the currently highlighted order – e.g. Nexium is now in **Order #1**, as **Order #1** was selected when **New ** was pressed.

Items from the **Usual Scripts**, **Prior Meds** or **Discontinued** tabs may be dragged and dropped directly into a specific order.

If desired, order items may be dragged into other orders as needed – e.g. Coumadin was moved from Order #2 into Order #1. As Order #2 ceased to exist, the heading disappeared.

Multiple order items may also be merged into a single prescription order by selecting the required items, right-clicking and selecting **Merge Prescription Order**.

Alternatively, if all order items are dragged and dropped into the same order (e.g. Order #1) and there is no longer a need for orders to be numbered, the headings will disappear.

If you wish to print only certain orders, select them by holding down \[**Ctrl**] on your keyboard while clicking on the corresponding order’s header.Once the orders are selected, right-click on one of the selected headers and select **Print Selected Orders**.
