To block out part of a provider's day, complete the following steps:

Go to **Appointments **
:::

Select the day.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Right-click the provider’s name on the column header.
:::

:::WorkflowBlockItem
Click the **Block Out** icon on the toolbar.

- The cursor will turn to a box.

Click at the beginning of the time you want to block out and drag the cursor to create a box over the period you want to block out.

Release the mouse button when you have the box on the period you want to block.

Enter a reason for blocking out the day in the New Block Out Rule screen.
