It is intended for System Administrators and technical users.

# Feature Overview

PharmaNet is the province-wide data network administered by the Ministry of Health. PharmaNet keeps a record of every prescription dispensed in a B.C. community pharmacy. Practitioner access to PharmaNet is available for the purpose of direct patient care—providing health services to an individual in the context of a professional health practice.

See more info at the following[ link](https://www2.gov.bc.ca/gov/content/health/practitioner-professional-resources/pharmacare/pharmanet-bc-s-drug-information-network).

We've built a toolbar button and macro to enable Profile users to launch the Pharmanet portal from Profile easily and with the current patient in context.

# August 2022 Update Changes

- The toolbar button macro and launch macro have been separated to make future updates much easier
- Pharmanet will now launch using the user's system default web browser (e.g. Chrome, Edge, or Firefox), rather than always launching with Internet Explorer

# Download Package from Marketplace

Download the attached button and macro package. The download package contains 3 files:

- **Pharmanet Macro 2022-08.jfa** - Launch macro
- **Pharmanet Button 2022-08.jfa** - Toolbar button macro
- **Pharmanet Registry Key Short Codes.jfa** - Registry Keys used to store providers' Pharmanet User ID and Passwords

# Import Launch Macro and Registry Keys

Follow these steps if you're configuring the new 2022-08 macro and toolbar button even if Profile users already have the Pharmanet button on their toolbar.

1. Log in as an administrator user.
2. Go to **Organization / Import & Export / Import Jaffa File**.
3. Import the **Pharmanet Macro 2022-08.jfa** file from the download package.
4. Repeat step 2 and import the **Pharmanet Registry Key Short Codes.jfa** file from the download package.

# Configure Pharmanet Toolbar Button for Users

Each Profile user (or role if Role preferences are being used in the system) who requires the Pharmanet toolbar button must follow these steps to add the button to their toolbar. This is required if users have an older version of the toolbar macro, but will not be required in future if there are further changes to the launch macro.

1. Right-click on the main toolbar and choose **Toolbar settings...**
2. The Customise shortcuts and Macro Icons window will appear. Navigate to the Macro Icons tab.
