## Prerequisites

- The minimum required Profile build is 8.5.4
- Permission to set Patient Preferences
- Permission to import Jaffa files

## Intended Audience

# Overview

Intrahealth has had a request to add the “Indigenous Country” and “Indigenous Status” to the patient’s / client’s demographic profile. 

The following instructions advise how to:

- Enable this feature.
- Import the Australian Aboriginal Countries (as referenced in [List of Australian Aboriginal group names - Wikipedia](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Australian_Aboriginal_group_names)).
- Associate the Indigenous Countries and status to a patient / client record.   

After following these steps all patients / clients will have two new fields in their demographic record that will allow the updating of Indigenous Country and Indigenous status. This setup will only need to occur once.

## Enabling First Nations Fields in the Patients Medical Record

1. Go to **Organisation /Preferences/General/Patient**
2. Under the **Other **tab, tick the **Show First Nations Fields** checkbox

## Downloading & Importing the Indigenous Country Jaffa File

Download the Indigenous Country Jaffa File (can be found in the attached .ZIP file)

1. Go to the Solutions Centre on Fresh Desk
2. Go to **Knowledge Base/Administration/AU Specific**
3. Select Indigenous Country.zip
4. Extract this zip file

Import the Indigenous Country Jaffa file

1. On Profile, Go to **Organisation/Import & Export/Import Jaffa File**
2. Navigate to the folder with Indigenous Countries.jfa
3. Select the file and click **Open**

## Configuring the Indigenous Country in the Demographic Record

Go to the social view of Alter Patient for the patient you wish to configure

1. Go to **Patient /Alter Patient**
2. Search the Patient & click **OK**
3. Go to the **Social** view

Enter the Indigenous Country and Indigenous Status of the patient

- These fields will auto populate as you type. You can click on the **… **icon on the right-hand side of the text box to view a list of all possible options.
