To add or change a patient's Next of Kin, complete the following steps:

Click **Alter Patient **from the toolbar or click the **Patient** tab then select **Alter Patient**.

- The Select Patient screen appears where you can select the patient.

Select the patient from the list and click **OK**.

- You can also enter the patient's last name and first name in the top box and click **Search**.

Click **OK**. 

- The patient record appears.

Click **Family** on the menu on the right.

Click the **Next of Kin** field and enter the name of the next of kin.

- If the person is already in the Patient Register, the other fields in the will auto-populate.
- If the person is not in the Patient Register, complete as fields as you can.
