You can use interventions to manage and track planned follow-up visits for patients. 

These may be single visits or a series of visits such as annual physicals or cervical smears.

To add an intervention as a physician, complete the following steps:

While in the New Encounter view, click **Care Plans**.

Click the **New Intervention** icon.

- The Intervention screen appears.

Enter the date for the next visit in the **Intervention** field.

Enter the reason for the intervention in the **Reason** field.

Set the frequency and duration if required:

- Click the **Repeat** drop-down and select the frequency.

- Enter the value in the field beside the frequency.

- Enter end date in the **until** field.
