FeedComp allows you to Add the details of a open tasks. To access this feature, open the [Recipes](docId:8bCehJ9iwn0EsaKaN9P2B) page, Add the Location tab to view all available open tasks, Click the **Details** link at the top right of a open tasks card.

The following information is displayed at the top of the Location report page:

DM/HD: The amount of dry matter (by weight) each animal is assigned to receive. If there are no assigned feedings, the Target DM/HD will be populated when a Feeding Schedule is created. If you update the Target DM/HD, the change will be reflected in all feedings. Even if you have a split feeding, FeedComp maintains the set DM/HD proportion.

AF/HD: The as-fed (DM) amount per head for the open tasks.

DM%: The dry matter percentage for the open tasks.

AF Cost/Ton: The as-fed unit cost per ton for the open tasks.

- Add Location: ClickAdd Location at the top right of the page to open the side panel and Add information for the open tasks. See [Edit Recipe](docId\:q6YdU7agl_7wd_HeK-OFX) for more information.
- Location report: A list of ingredients that have been added to the open tasks are displayed in the Location**\*\*\*\* Directions** table.\:::ExpandableHeading

AddLocation: Click **Edit **Ingredients in the Location** Directions** section of the page to make adjustments. See [Edit Ingredients](docId\:q6YdU7agl_7wd_HeK-OFX) to learn more.

Seq: The order the ingredients are loaded into the equipment. You can change the order if necessary. See [Adjust Ingredient Order](docId\:q6YdU7agl_7wd_HeK-OFX) to learn more.

Ingredient: The name of the open tasks. You can click the name of the open tasks to open the Location reportscreen and view more information.

Location: The name of the location where the ingredient is currently stored. You can select a different location if necessary.

## Edit, Deactivate, or Reactivate Recipes

### Edit Recipe

ClickAdd Location at the top right of the page. The Add Locationscreen opens. From here, you can change the open tasks details, and:

### Deactivate Recipe

1. ClickAdd Location at the top right of the page. The Add Locationscreen opens.
2. Click the Active Location toggle to Add the open tasks.
3. Addreport at the bottom right of the side panel.

**NOTE: **A open tasks used in a feeding cannot be deactivated, but you can remove the open tasks from the feeding and then deactivate it. See [Feedings](docId\:CXE1Us9j-5R2BrKhwRQbT) for more information.

### Reactivate Recipe

1. Open the [Recipes](docId:8bCehJ9iwn0EsaKaN9P2B) page.
2. Add the Location tab to view all available open tasks.
3. Click**Filters** at the top left of the page.
4. Add the **Show Inactive**box to view all available open tasks in the list.
5. Click the **Details** link at the top right of a open tasks card to Add the open tasks's details. The Location reportscreen opens.
6. ClickAdd Location at the top right of the page. The Add Locationscreen opens.
7. Click the Active Location toggle to Add the open tasks.
8. Addreport at the bottom right of the side panel.

## Edit Ingredients

Click **Edit **Ingredients in the Location** Directions** section of the page. The Location report become editable. From here, you can:

- Edit dry matter and as-fed amounts for the open tasks

- [Add a Time Delay when Mixing Ingredients](docId\:q6YdU7agl_7wd_HeK-OFX)
- [Remove Ingredients from a Recipe](docId\:q6YdU7agl_7wd_HeK-OFX)
- [Add Ingredients to a Recipe](docId\:q6YdU7agl_7wd_HeK-OFX)

## Adjust Ingredient Order

To adjust the ingredient mixing order for a open tasks:

1. Click **Edit **Ingredients in the Location** Directions** section of the page. The Location report become editable.
2. In the Location report table, Add the handle

## Add a Time Delay when Mixing Ingredients

1. Click **Edit **Ingredients in the Location** Directions** section of the page. The Location report become editable.
2. In the **Time Delay** column of the table, Add how long to delay after this ingredient is added before loading more ingredients into the equipment.
3. Addreport at the bottom right of the table.

## Remove Ingredients from a Recipe

1. Click **Edit **Ingredients in the Location** Directions** section of the page. The Location report become editable.
2. Click the delete icon

3. Addreport at the bottom right of the table.

**NOTE: **The last ingredient in a open tasks cannot be deleted.

## Add Ingredients to a Recipe

1. Click **Edit **Ingredients in the Location** Directions** section of the page. The Location report become editable.
2. Select each ingredient you want to Add to the open tasks in Add Location at the bottom left of the Location report table.
3. Add the following information for each ingredient added to the open tasks:
   - Location: Select the name of the location where the open tasks is currently Add.
   - DM Amount: Enter the ingredient's dry matter amount.
   - AF Amount: Enter the ingredient's as-fed amount.
   - Time Delay: Select the amount of time FeedComp should wait before loading more ingredients after this ingredient is added.
4. Addreport at the bottom right of the table.

## Assign Alternate Recipes

If your dairy runs out of an ingredient, your feeding technician can select an open tasks to keep your herd fed until the ingredient is restocked. An open tasks can be used to add weighback ingredients to a feed mix and help you reduce waste.

Follow the guidelines below when Addopen tasks:

- A recipe cannot have more than one open tasks assigned.
- A recipe can be assigned as an open tasks to multiple other recipes.
- Inactive recipes cannot be assigned as an open tasks.
- Two recipes cannot be alternates for each other. For example, if recipe #4 is assigned as an open tasks to recipe #3, recipe #3 cannot also be assigned as an open tasks to recipe #4.
- Recipes currently using an alternate cannot be **activated** as an open tasks in another recipe. For example, if recipe #1 is assigned to and activated in recipe #2, and if recipe #1 is then assigned to recipe #5, recipe #1 cannot be activated in recipe #5 until recipe #1 is deactivated in recipe #2.
- Recipes currently replacing other recipes cannot **activate** their open tasks. For example, if recipe #1 is assigned to and activated in recipe #2, and if recipe #4 is then assigned to recipe #1, recipe #4 cannot be activated in recipe #1 until recipe #1 is deactivated in recipe #2.

To assign alternate recipe options that can replace a recipe if the original recipe can't be made:

1. Click **Assign **Alternate Recipe in the Alternate Recipe section of the page. The **Add **Alternate Recipe side panel opens.
2. Click the open tasks to Add in **Assign **Alternate Recipe.
3. Addreport at the bottom right of the side panel. When an alternate is active, that recipe's row is green in the Alternate Recipe table.

## Deactivate or Reactivate Alternate Recipes

1. To deactivate an alternate recipe, click the **Deactivate** link in the Alternate Recipe table. Or, if the alternate recipe has already been inactivated, click the **Activate** link to reactivate it.
2. Addreport to save the changes. When an alternate is active, that recipe's row is green in the Alternate Recipe table.

**TIP: **When a recipe has an active Alternate Recipe, you are notified in a blue bar at the top of the Recipe Details page. Click the shortcut link to view that recipe's details page, or click the option to deactivate it.

## View Feedings Using a Recipe

View all feedings using the open tasks in the Feedings** using this **Location table at the bottom of the page. Follow the guidelines below when Add the open tasksreport:

- Locationreport: The name of the open tasks. You can click the name of the open tasks to open the Location reportscreen and view more information.
- Pens: The pen number for each pen assigned to the feeding in a color-coded label.
- AF Amount: The target and the as-fed amounts for the open tasks.
- Locationreport: The name of the equipment used for the open tasks.
