### Required Permissions

Only users who are assigned a Role with Integrations Management permissions can connect partner integrations. See [Edit Dairy User Permissions](docId\:dgKiJJMfdmpDvWGygh_P2) and [Manage Dairy Roles](docId\:tklz3_ROmKlipE8l-rFi6) for more information.
:::

Follow these steps to integrate the partner system with VAS and allow health and reproduction data and alerts to display in PULSE:

## Step 1: Nedap-Bi Setup

Prior to activating your integration, you must first establish a sync with your on-premise equipment and create a Nedap-Bi account. Contact your partner system representative and request the following:

- A scheduled sync with Nedap-Bi. This will allow VAS to pull refreshed data into PULSE.
- Assistance with creating a Nedap-Bi account. Be sure to note your credentials, as you will need them when connecting the integration in [Step 4](docId\:iRNrvo1eOQpPHrAAgyME4).

## Step 2: Configure Items in DairyComp 305 (DairyComp Unlimited Users Only)

To receive animal alerts in DairyComp 305 and PULSE, you must first create and configure several items as follows:

1. In DC305 DairyComp 305 - VAS Dairy Management Software, access Item Definitions (ALTER\2) and create or modify the required items to store alerts. Expand [Required Items](docId\:iRNrvo1eOQpPHrAAgyME4) below to learn more about each item.
2. In DairyComp 305, enter `PLATFORM` in the command line.
3. Click the **Pulse Items** tab and expand Nedap.
4. If necessary, map or add an item. Expand [Required Items](docId\:iRNrvo1eOQpPHrAAgyME4) below to learn more about each item:
   1. **Map Existing Item:** To map an item to an existing DC305 DairyComp 305 - VAS Dairy Management Software item, double-click the item. Select the existing DC305 DairyComp 305 - VAS Dairy Management Software item, then click **OK** to confirm your selection.
   2. **Add New Item:** To create a new item, check the box for that item. Click **Create (1) Items**, then click **Yes** to confirm your selection.

## Step 3: Configure Worklist Commands in DairyComp 305 (DairyComp Unlimited Users Only)

Follow these steps to generate partner worklists using the new items and send them to PULSE.

1. In DC305 DairyComp 305 - VAS Dairy Management Software, access Command Abbreviations (ALTER\3) and create or modify the required worklist commands. Expand [Worklist Commands](docId\:iRNrvo1eOQpPHrAAgyME4) below to learn more about each required worklist.
2. Alert items automatically push to PULSE. No additional commands are needed to send the alerts or lists to PULSE.
If present, delete the MILK\VHU1 command from Command Abbreviations (ALTER\3). This command was used to import alert items to the on-premise integration and is no longer needed.
